Pepito's America
A Sitcom

Pepito’s family is gigantic, and is always there to help him get out of a jam.

Pepe

PEPITO BUENO, 20’s, is a charming, gregarious, kind hearted lady’s man. Cunning and sly and always amusing, Pepito is a first generation Mexican-American whose love of a good party is only exceeded by his loyalty to his family and friends. Pepito’s chance meeting with Paul Lipshitz gives him the perfect opportunity to start his dream business, but his insatiable curiosity and comic sense of adventure get him into trouble at every turn.

Paul

PAUL LIPSHITZ, 30’s, a Jewish/Muslim American, is the voice of reason amid Pepito’s antics. He’s conservative, articulate, responsible, detail-oriented, and tends to be accident-prone. Paul’s interests include classical music, horticultural and his beautiful, inquisitive 10-year old daughter, SAMANTHA. Now divorced, Pepito tries to fix-up Paul with one of his harem, always ending in calamity.

GRANDMA DE LA PAZ, 60’s, is a dynamic, superstitious Mexican immigrant who has strange psychic abilities. She even has a psychic parrot accomplice named PANCHO who sits perched on her shoulder throughout the day. As Pepito’s maternal grandmother, she is the most respected member of the family, carrying with her centuries of old world customs and traditions. Grandma can be tender and caring, yet quite tenacious and resourceful, especially when her family’s well being is threatened.

CARLITOS, 20’s, 6’2”, 240 lbs. is a strong, hulk of a Black Mexican man who can be quite intimidating at first glance…which makes him an effective bodyguard for his cousin, Pepito. But there is a childlike innocence about Carlitos; he is easily excitable and can break into a friendly rap at any given moment. He loves to sing falsetto, mimic musical sounds and fly around town on his skateboard.

MS. MOON KIM, 30’s, is a sweet, aloof, upbeat, wealthy Korean woman who owns the building Pepito and Paul rent office space in. She has a voracious thirst for alcohol and disguises the elixirs in various imaginative containers including her perfume bottle. Exhuberant and zany, Ms. Kim ends up becoming PPMC’s inept receptionist, mostly because she has a huge crush on Paul. As a gourmet chef, Ms. Kim often tries to win over Paul and other people by creating delicious dishes. This tends to evoke Grandma’s competitive spirit, and as a result, there are often passionate cook-offs between the two.

ISABELLA, 20’s, is a beautiful, intelligent, sexy computer engineer with a Ph.D. from Stanford. As Pepito’s cousin, she uses her technical skills to help PPMC run smoothly. Isabella is somewhat of a tomboy; she has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and loves to attend tech expos to see the latest and greatest gadgets and gizmos.

MR. G., a.k.a. Genkapuss Horkinder, 30’s, is a conservative, skeptical little person who has yet to lose his virginity. Though he’s a Harvard graduate, he tends to misconstrue, and often finds sexuality in situations where there is none. Employed by Paul’s rich father, his primary job is to keep a close eye on PPMC’s business activities. Mr. G. has an out of date fashion sense and a tendency to be grumpy and neurotic.

OFFICER CLANCY, 30’s, is a stocky, tough, suspicious-minded Los Angeles Police Officer. As a bike cop in the neighborhood, he often drops by PPMC unannounced to check up on Pepito and make sure he’s staying out of trouble. Even though he’s a New York transplant who can be very edgy and short tempered at times, Officer Clancy has a soft spot for Isabella. As soon as he sees her, his whole personality changes.
